Global Research Outreach
Samsung has explored opportunities to build research partnerships with academia and research institutions to create the future.
SAIT is actively engaged in the pursuit of open innovation to foster the discovery of new ideas and technological breakthroughs. To develop core technologies along our selected research directions, we have created research collaborations with external partners. In addition, we have forged close strategic relationships with global universities to resolve the significantly challenging technology issues and achieve collaboration results that align with the strategic vision and goals of both parties.
Samsung offers a specific collaboration platform for global universities: the Global Research Outreach (GRO) program. The GRO program is an annual call for proposals that invites the world’s leading universities to propose innovative research ideas that will be evaluated for their novelty and alignment with Samsung’s various research fields.
Overview
The SAMSUNG Global Research Outreach (GRO) Program is an important part of SAMSUNG’s growing academic research engagement and collaboration platforms.
Since 2009, world-class university researchers have been invited annually to propose novel research ideas and work with our R&D teams to foster technological innovation. This has resulted in active collaborative relationships with over 150 leading universities worldwide.
The selected GRO projects will be funded for one year. This project may be extended based on annual research outcomes and the necessity for further research partnerships, as determined by SAMSUNG. Joint research proposals from multiple universities are welcome and accepted.
The GRO Program represents an opportunity for SAMSUNG and universities to build mutually beneficial research relationships, and we look forward to your participation.
