Grip force measurement of the forceps with the FBG sensor

Abstract
Surgeons cannot receive haptic feedback to teleoperated surgical robot because it is difficult to attach force sensible sensor to the surgical robot in the surgery environment although haptic feedback is critical in many surgical tasks. As a solution to this problem, we proposed force sensible forceps to attached optical fibre Bragg grating sensor on the grasper. A proposed prototype forceps confirmed that it is sensible grasping force in the teleoperated grasper to compare the providing force and measuring force.
